With MilanOn, dilium won the Innovaturismo 2022 call for proposals promoted by Unioncamere Lombardia for innovative projects in the tourism sector. The objective of the competition was to incentivize the creation of technological solutions capable of improving the tourism experience, focusing on projects capable of exploiting the potential of digital technologies and innovation.
Eligible projects included innovative tourism promotion and/or development projects from four standpoints: improving tourism through the creation of innovative solutions; providing a secure tourism experience; increasing the quantity and quality of available data and improving its use for communication, marketing and optimization of internal processes; and environmental sustainability of the services offered.
dilium, took advantage of the opportunities offered by Unioncamere Lombardia and presented its innovative digital project "MilanOn."
MilanOn: AR to enhance and amplify the tourism experience in LombardyMilanOn is an innovative digital project based on Augmented Reality technology applied to the tourism and cultural sector. The aim of the project is to create a unique tourist experience within the city of Milan and the region of Lombardy, enhancing and diversifying the enjoyment of the cultural, artistic and urban heritage of the area.
In detail, MilanOn is presented as a digital platform where institutions, organizations and economic operators can create and promote their own initiatives through AR content viewable through the MON application, available on Apple and Google Marketplace.
The platform will provide access to a CMS where it will be possible to publish many different Augmented Reality experiences, such as video storytelling, videos presenting works of art, and specially created content to achieve specific goals such as sharing PDFs or accessing social pages, while also offering the possibility to purchase dedicated tickets and services.
A truly innovative solution developed by the dilium team with MilanOn, which promises and allows to improve the tourism experience by creating new touch points with visitors: before, during and after the tourist experience people are having, for a real "neverending tourism journey" that continues on the app.
AR applied to the world of art, museums and cultureAugmented Reality is becoming an increasingly popular technology in the sector of art and cultural experiences. dilium is among the first innovators in this field to drive change.
